Rehabilitation and Reintegration Manager – Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Services.
Fulham Correctional Centre | Sale, Gippsland
Formal position title: Manager, Rehabilitation and Reintegration
Permanent full time | $170,000–$175,000 plus 12% superannuation | Bonus opportunity | Relocation assistance
Lead multidisciplinary services that strengthen rehabilitation, transition and lasting change
The most complex human-services challenges are rarely solved by one profession, one program or one team.
They require leaders who can see the whole picture. Leaders who build trust across professional boundaries, translate different perspectives into shared action and create the conditions in which people can do their best work.
This is that kind of role.
Fulham Correctional Centre is seeking an accomplished leader to lead and integrate a 35-FTE portfolio spanning clinical services, assessment and transition, health and wellbeing, and faith and cultural services. Your task will not be to become the expert in every discipline.
It will be to create the direction, relationships and accountability that allow these services to work as one.
Leading across services
This role requires leadership across teams that bring different expertise, responsibilities and ways of working.
Your leadership will be particularly important when clinical and operational perspectives differ, service demand changes unexpectedly or a complex case requires several teams to contribute to a coordinated response. You will also need to ensure that professional expertise, service quality and clinical integrity remain connected to organisational performance and accountability.
As Manager, you will enable different services to work together effectively, strengthen the connection between rehabilitation, case coordination and transition, and ensure the portfolio delivers for the Centre and the people it serves.
Your influence will come from being visible, curious and credible and from knowing when to lead, when to collaborate and when to draw on specialist expertise.
Leading the portfolio
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will join Fulham’s Senior Leadership Team and lead the portfolio through five direct reports.
You will be accountable for:
- the overall performance and integration of the 35-FTE portfolio
- leadership, workforce capability, finances, resources and risk
- contractual performance, KPIs, SDOs and service obligations
- program delivery, quality and continuous improvement
- relationships across the Centre and advice to the General Manager.
You will work closely with an experienced Senior Clinician who acts as the portfolio’s clinical lead and key deputy. The Senior Clinician leads the clinical workforce and holds defined authority for clinical standards, professional supervision, clinical quality and complex clinical advice.
You will set the direction for the portfolio, bringing clinical expertise, operational priorities and organisational accountability together effectively.
You may recognise yourself in the work…even if you have never worked in corrections
Your current title may be Regional Manager, Operations Manager, Clinical Services Manager, Allied Health Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, Head of Social Work, Community Services Manager or something entirely different.
The title matters less than the work you have led.
You may be the person who has:
- brought different professional groups together to achieve better service outcomes
- led services in which risk, regulation and human need coexist
- built credibility with frontline teams, specialists, executives and external partners
- improved performance without losing sight of service quality or professional integrity
- supported other leaders to take responsibility for their teams
- created stability, clarity and confidence during change.
If that describes your leadership, your experience may be more relevant to Fulham than you think.
What you must bring
From your first day, you will bring:
- substantial experience leading people and multidisciplinary services
- integrity, emotional intelligence and sound judgement
- the ability to lead through others and build capability
- credibility across professional and operational boundaries
- experience managing performance, resources, risk and service outcomes
- a visible and resilient leadership style, with a genuine commitment to rehabilitation and sustainable change.
A relevant tertiary qualification in health services, psychology, criminology, social work, counselling, rehabilitation, community services or another related human-services discipline is required.
Make a lasting difference
Fulham is a 1,049-bed medium- and minimum-security correctional centre near Sale and includes the 84-bed Nalu Transition Community. With approximately 1,000 people released from Fulham each year, the services you lead can make a lasting difference to how people engage in rehabilitation, prepare for release and build a more positive future.
Corrections-specific knowledge can be developed. GEO will provide structured support to help you understand the operating and contractual environment, build key relationships and access the operational, clinical and professional expertise needed to succeed.
The work is complex, the environment is demanding and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution is real.
What GEO offers
- a base salary of $170,000–$175,000 plus 12% superannuation
- eligibility for a bonus opportunity, subject to applicable arrangements
- relocation assistance for the successful candidate
- permanent full-time employment.
This is an on-site role working 38 hours per week, with a preferred commencement in January 2027 or earlier by agreement. While the position is not part of a routine on-call roster, there may be occasional contact outside ordinary hours where senior leadership input is required.
Bring your leadership to a different kind of challenge
You may not have pictured your next role in a correctional environment.
But if you know how to unite complex services, lead through others and build effective collaboration across professional boundaries, this may be the leadership opportunity you have been looking for.
Interested candidates are welcome to arrange a confidential, no-obligation conversation before deciding whether to apply.
