About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Return to Work and Wellbeing Coordinator who is seeking a new challenge.
Reporting to the Occupational Health Safety & Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that Fulham Correctional Centre meets their return-to-work obligations under the Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation, acting as the point of contact for injured workers and supporting them throughout their recovery. Additionally, this role will be pivotal in improving employee wellbeing while working with the Human Resources Manager to implement wellbeing initiatives at Fulham Correctional Centre.
This role is also responsible for ensuring the effective financial management of worker’s compensation claims, for educating employees and for the management of non-work-related injuries.
You will be responsible to:
- Assist and support injured workers to remain at or return to work while they recover from a work-related injury
- Consult with the injured workers, their manager/ supervisor, treating health practitioner, occupational rehabilitation provider, WorkSafe Agent or worker’s representative (if they have one) and any other relevant internal or external stakeholders as required
- Develop and deliver on strategies to drive mutually beneficial outcomes on claims
- Liaise with internal managers and supervisors educating and coaching them on their return-to-work obligations
- Take steps to prevent recurrences of injuries by managing employees in compliance with their return-to-work plans
- Act as a point of contact for the WorkSafe return to work inspector
- Help to resolve any issues or disputes related to return to work
- Complete reporting and case file management
- Assist with proactive wellbeing initiatives
- With consultation develop a wellbeing activity calendar for the Centre
- Manage the financial status of all workers’ compensation claims at the Centre
- Facilitate and manage the workers’ compensation wage reimbursement cycle process, ensuring that reimbursements are completed and processed within the required timeframes
Assist the Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation Specialist (OHS&R) in the management of workplace OHS&R and act as a backup for the role as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
About You
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Work Health, Safety and Rehabilitation professional to take the next step up in their career and deliver effective health and safety and injury and wellbeing management related activities for a large workforce. To be successful, ideally you will possess:- Completed two-day WorkSafe endorsed Role of a Return-to-Work Coordinator training course
- Demonstrated knowledge of Return-to-Work obligations of employers and workers under Victorian legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian workers compensation scheme
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people involved in the return-to-work process
- Experience using workers compensation claims software would be an advantage
- Willingness to complete Mental Health First Aid Training
